Real fishing, not a mackerel bash

Small groups, a fast boat and a skipper who targets the fish you actually want. All abilities welcome, tackle supplied.

Summer to November

Blue and porbeagle shark

Blue shark fishing off Falmouth is some of the most reliable sport in the country. On a good day the boat loses count, with fish to well over 100lb and double hook ups common.

Porbeagles are the giants. Jerry spent three seasons chasing nothing else and once landed 38 in a year. A customer aboard Fastcats took three in a day with a combined weight of over 1,000lb, the biggest topping 400lb, and that one made the national papers.

Every shark is released. Hooks straighten under pressure at the boat, there is no T-barring and the fish never leaves the water. The chum is made on board with Jerry's own kit.

Bass on the Manacles

The Manacles Reef, seven miles or so off Falmouth, is where Jerry learned his trade and it is still his favourite place on earth to fish. Live mackerel under a float in shallow water, drifting the sandbars and reef edges, or lures when the fish are up.

Thirty or forty bass in a day is not unusual for this boat when others go home empty. Double figure fish come to the boat every season.

Tope and wrecking

Dreamcatcher's speed puts the offshore wrecks and reefs in easy reach. Big pollack, conger and ling over the wrecks, and tope to 50lb plus on the banks.

Got a species you have never ticked off? Tell Jerry. If it swims off Cornwall and it is within the boat's range, he will put a plan together.

Bespoke days out

Corporate days and team building, stag and birthday trips, or a family day at sea looking for dolphins, basking sharks and seals along one of the finest coastlines in Europe. Dreamcatcher has a proper cabin to shelter in, heating for cold mornings and a big level deck that suits mixed groups.

Extended trips to the Isles of Scilly and further offshore are possible for the right crew. Ask.
